From April 25th to 27th, cannabis enthusiasts and industry professionals converged in Minneapolis for the highly anticipated Lucky Leaf Expo 2024. Held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, this event promised an immersive and educational experience for attendees, and it certainly delivered on its promise. Here’s a closer look at what made the Lucky Leaf Expo a standout event in the cannabis calendar.
The Pre Party
The Lucky Leaf Expo kicked off with a vibrant pre-party that set the tone for the main event. Starting at Tom’s Watch Bar and continuing at Hi Flora, the evening was a perfect blend of excitement and networking, attracting a diverse crowd from the cannabis industry.
Atmosphere and Setting
Tom’s Watch Bar provided a lively, welcoming environment with its spacious layout and an array of screens that added a dynamic backdrop. The ambiance was casual yet buzzing, ideal for the informal chats and introductions that took place over craft drinks. Moving on to Hi Flora, the atmosphere shifted to a more intimate setting, fostering deeper conversations among attendees surrounded by stylish, plant-filled interiors.
Networking and Engagement
The pre-party excelled in offering ample opportunities for networking. At Tom’s Watch Bar, the energy was high, and the crowd mingled freely, sharing insights and discussing industry trends. Hi Flora’s cozier vibe allowed for more focused discussions, perfect for forming meaningful connections. Both venues facilitated a sense of community and collaboration that resonated with the participants.
The Lucky Leaf pre-party was a resounding success, delivering a fun and fruitful evening ahead of the expo. The transition from the vibrant Tom’s Watch Bar to the chic Hi Flora was seamless, catering to all preferences and setting the stage for what was undoubtedly a promising expo. For industry professionals and enthusiasts alike, the event was not only a celebration but a valuable networking affair that highlighted the spirited and interconnected nature of the cannabis community.

From cultivation equipment and accessories to wellness products and advocacy organizations, attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide array of offerings and interact with industry experts.
Complementing the exhibits were a series of engaging seminars and panel discussions covering a variety of topics relevant to the cannabis community. Expert speakers shared insights on cultivation techniques, legal considerations, medicinal applications, and more, providing attendees with valuable knowledge and practical advice.
Networking Opportunities and Community Building
One of the highlights of the Lucky Leaf Expo was the networking opportunities it provided. Attendees had the chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across the cannabis industry, fostering collaboration and relationship-building. Whether in the exhibit hall, during seminars, or at networking events, the sense of community was palpable throughout the expo.
Education and Advocacy
In addition to showcasing the latest products and innovations, the Lucky Leaf Expo also served as a platform for education and advocacy. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest research and developments in the cannabis field, as well as engage with advocacy organizations working to advance cannabis legalization and social equity initiatives.
The Dutchie Afterparty
Dutchie hosted the official afterparty at the Pourhouse on Friday night. Attendees were admitted with their Lucky Leaf badge, allowing them to access a more intimate space where private conversations and business could get done. Those wishing to blow off some steam after a long day at the expo had an opportunity to do so in the consumption area on the patio. The venue had ample space for groups to move about and network freely.
Shawn Byron provided an absolute master class in customer relationship management! After acknowledging and thoroughly explaining an incident that has been widely publicized failure of technology on 4/20 this year, disruptions that hurt both customers and retailers alike in the form of lost sales, he explained how they are compensating businesses for their losses, preparing expert analysis to determine exactly what went wrong (I look forward to reading the post-mortem) and what Dutchie will be doing in the future to prevent this from happening again.
Day 2
The second day brought a lot more of the same with great presenters, and loads of vendors on the exhibit floor.
Looking Ahead
As the Lucky Leaf Expo drew to a close, attendees left feeling inspired, informed, and empowered by their experiences. The event succeeded in bringing together a diverse and passionate community united by a shared interest in cannabis, and its impact will undoubtedly be felt long after the doors have closed.
Overall, the Lucky Leaf Expo 2024 was a testament to the growth and vibrancy of the cannabis industry in Minneapolis and beyond. By providing a platform for education, networking, and community building, the expo played a vital role in advancing the industry and shaping its future.
